bodycountED

January 28th, 2011 No comments

Thank God this game is almost done & its in the final stages (alpha). From racing games to first person, this is a really good experience for me. Bodycount is powered by the EGO engine version 2.0…which also used in Dirt 3, Operation Flashpoint: Red River & Race Driver: Grid 2 this year.

Codemasters is knows for its racing games capabilities & stunning graphics/gameplay..~ there are a lots of good FPS games out there, but somehow bodycount looks promising.
i really hope it can stand tall with the other big first person shooter games in the market.

BODYCOUNT – the game:

Bodycount rips apart the first person shooter as genre-defining gunplay comes alive in a balletic orgy of bullets and destruction.

Experience the intense thrill of close-quarters combat in a shreddable world as Bodycount blasts outrageous fire-fights and ferocious action from both barrels.  Become a powerful combat asset green-lighted to eliminate enemies known only as ‘Targets’ on behalf of the ‘Network’, ensnared in a clandestine global power struggle that rages away from the headlines and under the cover of conventional war zones.

This exhilarating shooter drops players into chaotic areas of operations equipped with a mouth-watering selection of contemporary weapons to tear through environments and enemies, chaining kills, earning power ups and building up a bullet meter to unleash devastating air strikes on enemies.

Complimented by co-operative online play and multiplayer modes, Bodycount will set new standards for spectacular, visceral gun play and put the fun back into the FPS.

Malaysian Football

December 31st, 2010 No comments

166627_480067597869_562717869_5531677_282750_nI have always been a football fan since i was a kid..my achievement was representing my school, club & Penang way back in high school days. After that, i only play football in a small field/pitch..called futsal.
Ive been playing futsal ever since..entered couple of competition, get into fights, the joy & humiliation..just love this sports. It like making out with a 17 years old girl (i donno how that feel?trust me)
Basically, its fun for me..a stress relief & spend time with friends who loves the game.
On the 26th December 2010, i decided to go and watch football at Stadium Nasional, Bukit Jalil with a couple of friends. Its the AFF Cup first leg Finals between Malaysia & Indonesia.(keep wondering why must they have 2 leg for the Final?)I bought the tickets on Friday morning but they started selling it Thursday..i thought its no harm buying it late because local football is not that popular anymore…guess what?i tried to buy the RM50..it was finished on the morning the counter opens. So,whats left is RM30..ok lah..~

26th December, Bukit Jalil National Stadium.5pm..Me & Jia Shyan(a colleague) went to the stadium riding my motorbike because it was jammed pack that time. Upon arriving, we looked for parking space but without noticing..We went pass a crowd of Indonesian fans.(We were at the opponent entrance.yikes!) Then, found a parking spot. We  meet up our Indonesian friend; Aswin through the crowded stadium. We ate near the foodcourt before went it around 6pm..somehow,i need to take a leak before we went in the stadium. The que was so long…its like lining up for a lottery ticket. After that, we went in with our horns & making lots of noises. Seats are not filled yet but still people starts making noise like the game is about to start at anytime…but guess what, the game starts at 8pm..so, we sat there making noise honking (blow our horns) & looking at wave of people..the wait is excruciating..even the kickoff wisel cant be heard because too much noise (more than 80 thousand people in the stadium). First half, not much action..second half was the best. Goals keep coming after another..it should have been 4 or more. The funny part is, whenever the Malaysia team scored a goal..we were screaming & hugging people around us with joy..hey, even i throw away my horn & hug the guy infront of me because i was so ecstatic ..Malaysia won 3 – 0 that night. The only person who is not celebrating the goals is Aswin (an indonesian fan ‘lost’). When the game finish..i think the hardest part was going out from the stadium in one piece. They(people) were pushing & uncivilized while  making their way out..how rude! In the end..it was a nice memory & will be remembered :)

Congratulations to Malaysia for being the winner of AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 (after 14 years waiting).. & we got public holiday because of you guys :) yey!

MALAYSIA BOLEH!next..World Cup.. :P

what a way to end the year…~so,see you next year. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!

GAME: F1 2010

October 8th, 2010 No comments

F1 2010 is being created using Codemasters’ EGO Engine technology, which most recently powered the BAFTA award-winning Race Driver: GRID.

The first Formula One game to take advantage of high definition consoles and PC platforms, F1 2010 is the official game of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship and includes all of the official teams, drivers and circuits from the 2010 season. The game features the return of seven times Formula 1 Drivers’ World Champion Michael Schumacher, the introduction of several new teams, and the brand new Korean International Circuit that host the 2010 Formula 1 Korean Grand Prix.

In F1 2010 gamers will take on the full, expanded grid in a variety of game modes including Grand Prix, Championship, Time Trial and an extensive, innovative Career mode. F1 2010 also features a highly advanced damage model, fully dynamic weather system and extensive competitive multiplayer options. The game was developed using the EGO Game Technology Platform, Codemasters’ proprietary tech that powered the critically acclaimed, million-plus selling Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and Race Driver: GRID. The award-winning technology has been further developed to accurately recreate the unique aerodynamics and handling of 200MPH+ Formula 1 cars

I have worked on GRID, DIRT2 & latest addition is F1 2010..eventho KL studios mostly were not mention in any reviews or news..we did contribute to the game ~ still this is an achievement for our team. Bodycount & DiRT 3 is still in progress..~

F1 2010 reviewed from gametrailer is 8.6..while GRiD got a 9.2  & DiRT 2  9.1 ~

Rise of the Dragon

October 25th, 2009 No comments

Have u ever wonder how if feels to be in a middle of a war?without getting killed that is..~ well, Operation Flashpoint 2:Dragon Rising is a simulation game that relived those moments. Not like other first person shooter, OFP2 allow players to freely move in an open world environment (on an island called Sakira). Its not a rambo gameplay where you just can shoot countless people without running out of bullets, OFP2 need precision, tactical & real combat situation. its the real deal…example while u assemble a bazoka, one shoot could kill u while u least expected.

Eventho the KL studio contribute a small part in this game title, but technically its a challenge task to model. The game took some time to finish but mainly its on the gameplay technolgy,AI,effects and others.

After the released of this game, feedback & comments are coming in and fans are pleased with the gameplay..but dont expect realism that much in term of graphic coz some part need to scarifies for performance wise. So, for a real experience in battle field..you should get this game..~

for more info about this game, check out : http://www.codemasters.co.uk/flashpoint/

DiRT 2 : Malaysia Made

Dirt 2 cover

Dirt 2 game cover

Collin McRae : DiRT 2 is out now. In this game there are 8 rally tracks (country) to race and 4 of them were made in Codemasters KL Studios. (Malaysia,Morroco,Baja & Utah). Myself involved in production of Malaysia & Baja track and other assets creation. After GRiD, DiRT 2 is highly anticipated by the fans and its capabilities is awesome; from handling, flashback replay to particles system that have been improved.

Dirt 2 have been reviewed by top gamers website & get highly rated for 9 out of 10. With the release of GRiD last year, DiRT 2 is a combination of the old rally series & the new technology racing that incorperated in EGO game engine..its an exciting  off road racing where racing takes you to the extreme!..for someone who is into X-games like me, names like ken block, dave mirra, travis pastrana & collin mcrae himself is common with rally X. i still remember when collin tip over his car but still manage to finish the race.. so far,we’re getting good feedback for Dirt 2 and proud of it. The Malaysia track featured in this game is taken from a location in Rawang & this is something new because people will know Malaysia even through video games..in fact, the track is fun to play. So, get your copy of DIRT 2 now (available in all platform)…~ u wont regret it.

‘Technically, the game looks gorgeous, runs smooth at a constant frame rate, and exhibits almost no bugs and glitches’- digitalbattle.com

‘Given how superb both the cars and the various environments they race through look, it’s impressive that the frame rate rarely falters online or offline. The sense of speed is great, whether you’re racing through a jungle in Malaysia.. ‘- reviews.cnet.com

‘The majority of the track designs are also fun to race on, filled with curves, hairpins, switchbacks, chicanes, and jumps.’ – 1up.com

‘This is a Very Good Thing because not only is GRID one of the best-looking games ever made, it’s also one of the most enjoyable racers we’ve ever played ‘- gamesradar.com

Accident Happened

June 18th, 2009 No comments

izmal_cartoon

Same sh*t everyday..you could say that for this couple of days. Even the weather says it all, cloudy..not much anyway but..about a couple of weeks ago, i got into a minor accident with my indonesian housemate. I injured my left leg and left me with a scar..took me 2 weeks to be fully recovered. The road was slippery that night after the down pour, i rode my bike around 30km/h before taking a corner…but ending up sliding the road (more like surfing). We then rush to the nearest clinic to be treated. What an experience…~
Today, i got some free time in the office..so,i took my wacom and start drawing what i like most..cartoons. I drew myself running and screamming with no purpose..huh? Oh yah, i am wearing the germany jersey like in the cartoon.
